Saying Goodbye

When a pet's quality of life is poor, euthanasia is often the most peaceful and humane option. We are here to help guide you with compassion and respect. Our experienced vets will help assess your pet’s quality of life and discuss your concerns with honesty and kindness.

Questions to help assess your pet's Quality of Life include:

  • How much pain is your pet in?

  • Does he/she still have an appetite or is he/she drinking water?

  • Is your pet still getting joy out of life?

  • Can your pet stand, walk, or sit?

  • What is the ratio of pain to pleasure?

The Euthanasia Process

If the decision is made to proceed, we do all we can to make the experience is as peaceful and gentle as possible. We will talk you through what to expect beforehand, and make sure you feel prepared and supported.

Once the euthanasia solution is given, your pet will quietly and calmly drift into a deep, restful sleep within seconds. Your pet will not feel pain – only a peaceful drifting to sleep.

Aftercare and Cremation

We will look after your pet with the utmost respect and dignity. Working with our trusted pet cremation partners, we offer the choice of individual cremation with the ashes returned in your chosen urn, or communal cremation without the ashes returned.

We will talk you through these options sensitively and respectfully to help you decide what is right for your family.
